Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2025 released
The 2025 THE World University Rankings, which examined over 2000 institutions across 115 countries and territories, were announced on 9 October 2024. The UK boasts three universities in the top ten and 12 in the top 100. Oxford ranks first globally, followed by Cambridge in fifth and Imperial College London in ninth.

16 UK cities have been named QS Best Student Cities 2024: London, Edinburgh, Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Bristol, Coventry, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Belfast, Sheffield, Aberdeen, Brighton, and Leicester. The QS World University Ranking 2024, one of the most recognised and respected rankings of global universities, were unveiled in June 2023. The UK claims four out of the top ten positions. They are the University of Cambridge (2nd), the University of Oxford (3rd), Imperial College London(6th), and University College London (9th).
